Sheils Writes

Just an 80's girl in a modern world!

I can’t help myself lately with going back in time. My younger years. My olden days. I remember my parents always telling me how much they loved the 1950s. For me it’s the late 1970s/1980s.

Here is my “in between time” life lately. Work is obviously a major part of my life, but it’s the memories of what I would do with my “in between” time that keeps calling to me.

I’m happy I’ve been able to tap back into these days. They bring me comfort. I also regularly listen to a podcast that triggers all the memories of those days. Check out The Pop Culture Preservation Society wherever you listen to podcasts. They are great!

My toolkit of nostalgia keeps growing, thanks to several antique/thrift shops near my house. No judgment. This works for me to keep me happy. A feeling that doesn’t come in pill form prescribed by a doctor. I’m my own happiness doctor! This doctor is always in! I find these feelings in an 80s movie marathon, a Partridge Family album, a Grease sing along, my latch hook rug pillows and Nancy Drew mystery books!

My totally awesome journey continues! Need to find an old cassette player on my next thrift shop adventure and a few Madonna cassettes!!

Catch you on the flip side!
