Sheila, circa 1914, means heavenly. I was named Sheila Jeanne by my Mom & Dad in 1965.

Famous uses of Sheila…a movie from 1973, “The Last of SHEILA” stars Raquel Welch & Dyan Cannon (a classic!), a song “Oh Sheila” from 1985 by Ready for the World, another song (Hey Little) “Sheila” by Tommy Roe, 1962, another song “Sheila Take A Bow” by The Smiths, 1987.

Sheila is what girls are called in Australia.

Sheila E is a famous Sheila who is an American singer & drummer. Her famous hit, “The Glamorous Life” came out in 1984.

My Dad would call me Sheila bird! Now I go by Sheils, Sheil, Sheila & Sheila D.

I do not know many Sheila’s but when I meet one we instantly connect on our rarely used, but unique first name, and sing a little “oh, oh Sheila”.
