In what ways do you communicate online?
It’s here to stay, whether I like it or not. In the beginning, online communication seemed good. Fun even. In touch with old friends, family through Facebook mostly.
Fast forward 15 years and I am in the ultimate of love/hate relationships with this form of communication. I’m an introvert at heart. Bring back my landline, answering machine & busy signal.
However, I like to write, hence my WordPress blog. I’ve recently backed away from Facebook and just use the Messenger feature of it from time to time. I removed the app from my phone. I am more in control. I’m no longer posting where I am, the moment I’m there on my news feeds. It became addicting but served an odd purpose. It just doesn’t appeal to me lately. I prefer a bit more privacy now.
Instagram is a nice platform. I enjoy sharing photos as a way of online communicating and I can share my WordPress blogs through the “story” feature. X (formerly Twitter) I use to share my posts & keep up on a few of my favorite celebs.
For now, those are my forms of online communication, and when I’ve had enough, I make the call. Unplug. Disconnect. Read a book.
